Attach the folds using metal screws. The primary function of these two items is for sealing the edges of the roof. One is getting the two differently pitched planes to meet at the hip or valley rafter. As a final touch cover the flashing with shingles.

Before joining two roofs with different pitches you can temporarily remove the eaves trim and replacing it after completing joining the roofs. This allows water to flow off the upper panels out over the trim onto the lower panels and exits the roof at the eaves. Make it neat by folding the flashing edges around the roof s edges and along the bottom of the eave. Position the flashing between the two roof pitches.
