Mark the outline of the roof cuts that will be needed then use a skill saw to cut the outlined space.

Drip edge vents are a two in one installation that promote water shedding at the eaves and rakes of a roof while also allowing for ventilation into the attic.
A drip edge vent is made of a corrosive resistant material that sticks out about three inches back from the roof edge and then bends downward over them.
Remember to allow for the lip on the vent mechanism that will fit over the opening and rest on the surface of the roof.
First head up to your attic and determine where you want to install your roof vent.

Using the tape measure determine the size of the cut into the roof that will be necessary to insert the vent into the space.
